How it works

Four steps to solar

  1. Tell us about your home

Share your address, roof type and a recent hydro bill if you have one.

  2. Site assessment

We check your roof, shading, electrical panel and how much power you use.

  3. Design, quote and approvals

You get a written design and price. When you are ready, we apply for rebate pre-approval and the utility connection.

  4. Installation and connection

Most homes take one to three days on site. After inspection, your utility connects the system.

Questions and answers

Solar questions

How much can I get back for going solar in Ontario?

Through the Home Renovation Savings program you can get $1,000 per kW of solar, up to $5,000, and $300 per kWh of battery storage, up to another $5,000. Each rebate is capped at 50% of the cost, and pre-approval is required before equipment is bought or installed.

Should I choose the rebate or net metering?

The rebate lowers your upfront cost, but the system must power your own home. Net metering lets you send surplus power to the grid for bill credits. Which pays off better depends on your usage and system size, so we model both in your quote.

Does solar work through Ontario winters?

Yes. Panels produce less in winter and much more in spring and summer. Snow usually slides off tilted panels after a few sunny days. With net metering, summer credits carry forward to help in winter.

Do I need a battery?

No. A battery is optional. It lets you use stored solar power in the evening and keep essential circuits running during an outage. A battery added with new solar can qualify for its own rebate.

How long does installation take?

Most residential installs take one to three days on site. Rebate pre-approval, permits, inspection and utility connection add time, typically several weeks. Your quote includes a timeline.

What size system do I need?

It depends on your roof space, direction and shading, and how much electricity you use in a year. We size the system from 12 months of your hydro bills.
